How do I disconnect from Xero in RIP Expenses?


To disconnect the Xero integration, simply navigate in RIP Expenses to Administration -->Accounting Software, and click the Disconnect button. This will unlink your RIP Expenses Users from their corresponding Xero Contacts, and will mean that expenses submitted in RIP Expenses will not be exported to Xero.



How do transactions from RIP Expenses appear in Xero?

When an Out of Pocket expense (spent by the employee using their own money, then seeking reimbursement) is exported to Xero, it appears as an approved Bill to Pay, sitting among your supplier bills (see example below). The supplier to to be paid in this case is the employee.



Expenses submitted by Corporate Card Users appear in Xero as Spend Money Transactions against the matching Bank Account. 



Xero users will be able to go into the Reconcile tab within that Bank Account, and see the matching RIP-generated expense transactions down the right hand side of the screen, lining up with the Bank Account transactions on the left hand side of the screen. The Xero user can click the OK button in the centre of the screen to confirm reconciliation of the transaction.



How often does data syncing occur?


We export expense data to Xero about every minute. So once your expense has Approved status in RIP Expenses, the transaction should be visible in Xero within the next 60 seconds. If you can't find the expense, try checking the Export Issues page in RIP Expenses.
